The helmets form protects from hits from above and does not interfere with breathing or hearing.
Oftentimes referred to as "the helmet of the commoner", the kettle helmet is particularly eligiable to reenact footmen and common soldiers. Its wide brim showes high functionallity for it protects from rain, as well as the sun.
